Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino shares an injury update on Lionel Messi who is doubtful for PSG's next fixture against Lille.

The start of Leo Messi's career at PSG hasn't been the most ideal so far. Along with struggling to find the net in Ligue 1, he has also been plagued with multiple injuries thus far. Messi missed a collective training session with the team on Thursday, and Kylian Mbappe has also been ruled out for the match. Pochettino has yet to disclose if he would be including Messi in the squad for the game on Friday.

Via ESPN:

“This morning, he had a small muscle problem, so as a precaution he practiced individually. We will assess him individually to see if he can be involved (against Lille),” he told a news conference on Thursday.

With Neymar and Mbappe already ruled out for the game, PSG will be hopeful Messi can lead the Parisians to a win against the former champions.

Lille is well behind the Parisians after a shocking start for last year's league champions—only managing 15 points in 11 games played. However, PSG shouldn't underestimate Lille's lack of form—they were champions for a reason. Though the Parisians should see this as a good opportunity to extend their 6-point advantage at the top of the table.
