It's been a strange turn of events for Keelan Doss. However, he found himself donning the jersey of the Oakland Raiders. The very team that cut him at the end of the preseason last month and paid a good fee to win him back.
After the chaotic circus act that was Antonio Brown's stint with the Raiders, the continuous and uncertain back-and-forth between Brown and the Raiders eventually came to a halt when the star wideout asked for a release. The Raiders were given no choice and caved in.
In an attempt to salvage the situation, they went back to Doss, an Oakland native. Mike Garafolo provided the details while Ian Rapoport elaborated how big of a win that was for the former UC Davis WR.
That’s a massive signing bonus to lure a player off another team’s practice squad. Keelan Doss is a Raider again. https://t.co/WlXZEJ53xE

It was definitely a bizarre move for the Raiders, but Brown didn't give them much of a choice on the matter. They would have preferred Brown to start since he led the NFL in receiving TDs as a part of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, he strong-armed his way out of California. He is now going to share a bunk with Tom Brady as the New England Patriots try to win another Super Bowl. It can be said that Brown finally got what he wanted.
It's not like they'll be getting a terrible option for their depth chart in Doss, though. He may be undrafted, but he put on strong numbers in his four years with the Aggies. He notched 1334 yards in his senior year, notching nine touchdowns and gaining 11.3 yards per catch.
He will play his heart out for his hometown team and provide the much-needed desire that they couldn't find in Brown.
