The Los Angeles Rams are the winners of Super Bowl 56. It was an insane season that has finally come to an end. It was kind of shocking to see LA bring Eric Weddle out of retirement, but it seems it was the right decision. However, the veteran safety suffered a rather serious injury during the big game.

According to Pro Football Talk, Eric Weddle suffered a torn pec during the early portion of Super Bowl 56. The Rams safety, “got checked out on the sideline after a hit on Joe Mixon early in the game and he told reporters after the win was in the books that he tore his pec during the game.”

It's a rather serious injury and Weddle will have to receive surgery. Luckily for him, Eric Weddle plans to retire from the NFL once again, claiming, “I'm re-retiring. I'll go back to my daily life. Pretty banged up right now, but well worth it. Well worth the moment,” per Pro Football Talk. So, it seems the veteran safety is deciding to ride off into the sunset after winning Super Bowl 56.

The Rams could be in a whirlwind of hurt in the upcoming offseason, as multiple players could be retiring after winning the Super Bowl. Rumors are that Aaron Donald wants to call it a career, as well as head coach Sean McVay. We'll see what happens, but for now, everything is just speculation.

With that said, congratulations to Eric Weddle and the Rams. Although he suffered a torn pec, Weddle will gladly call it a career once again and enjoy retirement.
