The Los Angeles Rams announced the surprising addition of Eric Weddle on Wednesday amid the injury to Jordan Fuller. Fans were fired up to see the veteran DB back in Los Angeles, but no one was more excited than Rams star cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey took to Twitter on Wednesday to share his excitement over the return of Weddle to LA, and it's safe to say he's over the moon about the Rams' latest addition.

While Weddle and Ramsey weren't teammates for a long time, the two clearly developed a strong bond while manning the Rams' secondary in 2019. Ramsey joined the Rams via trade with the Jaguars in 2019, playing nine games for the team. 2019 was Weddle's lone year with the Rams, having joined the franchise after a three-year stint with the Baltimore Ravens.

Weddle hasn't played since that 2019 campaign, during which he recorded 108 tackles, four pass defenses, one tackle for loss, and one quarterback hit. Throughout his 13-year career, the 37-year-old has 29 interceptions, 98 pass defenses, eight forced fumbles, 9.5 sacks, and 1,179 tackles.

With Fuller set to miss the playoffs due to an ankle injury, the Rams were in need of depth in the secondary. Rather than go after some young talent or poach from a practice squad, the Rams were able to lure Weddle out of retirement and bring a familiar face back to the team.

Ramsey was dropping hints about the move on Twitter on Tuesday night, and couldn't wait to celebrate the official announcement on Wednesday when his former running mate officially returned to the league.
