Former UCF star Otis Anderson Jr was murdered on Monday evening in a horrific turn of events when his own father shot him and his mother. She is currently in critical condition. Anderson, 23, had a brief stint in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams but was cut in September. Nonetheless, he built some relationships within the organization, including one with Jalen Ramsey, who reacted to the sad news on Tuesday:

Otis Anderson Jr was a star at UCF, rushing for over 3,200 yards across four seasons with the Knights. He also collected 27 touchdowns and goes down as one of the best RBs in program history.

His father is facing two counts of second-degree murder after the tragic incident in Jacksonville, Florida on Monday night. We don't know what sparked this to happen but it's absolutely heartbreaking that his life was taken at such a young age from someone who is very close to him.

Otis Anderson Jr had a bright future ahead and could've still had a chance to make an NFL roster somewhere. His father was arrested at 6:20 AM on Tuesday and is currently in custody.

RIP to the young man. He will be remembered by many in the football community.
