The Los Angeles Rams could be without a key starter when they face the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl 56 on Sunday, with Sean McVay dropping some concerning update on Tyler Higbee's knee injury.

Higbee sustained a sprained MCL during their NFC title showdown with the San Francisco 49ers, and he has missed the team's practices ever since. In fact in its Friday injury report, the team said Higbee would have been doubtful to play had the Super Bowl been scheduled February 6, Sunday.

Despite having some more time to recover, however, the outlook is not good for the Rams' starting tight end. According to McVay, he is doubtful the 29-year-old will be able to practice with the team this week.

“I don't think so. We'll see,” McVay said when asked about the possibility of Higbee joining the team's practices heading to the Super Bowl, per Brady Henderson of ESPN.

That is certainly not good news for Sean McVay and the Rams, who are already dealing with a plethora of other injuries to their star players.

For one, Jalen Ramsey popped up on the injury report last week due to a shoulder injury. While expectations are he'll be able to suit up for the team come Super Bowl weekend, it's hard not to be concerned because the team listed him as questionable.

Los Angeles' battle with injuries is certainly a story worth keeping an eye on in the next few days in the lead-up to the big game. After all, the possible absences of Tyler Higbee and Jalen Ramsey could very well be a major factor in the outcome of the contest.
