The Texas Rangers are reportedly waiting on Clayton Kershaw's direction in MLB free agency, per Jon Morosi. Texas was linked to Kershaw, a Dallas native, last offseason. But the future Hall of Famer ultimately returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers. But might Kershaw be interested in joining former Dodger teammate Corey Seager in Texas?

“I do think Texas on some level is there among the options for Clayton Kershaw,” Morosi said on MLB Network. “And the Rangers, with Chris Young now running their baseball operations, Chris and Clayton have a very good relationship.”

Morosi then revealed that Clayton Kershaw lives in Texas during the offseason. He's familiar with the area which could entice him to sign with the Rangers.

“I think right now, Clayton probably has three options,” Morosi said. “number one, to potentially retire if he wants to do that. If he decides to pitch…I sort of think that we will see him back on a mound in 2023, then its probably a two team conversation.”

Morosi went on to say it will likely come down to either the Dodgers or Rangers in MLB free agency for Clayton Kershaw.

Retirement is on the table for the left-hander. Kershaw hasn't ruled out the possibility of leaving the game. But he's still expected to pitch next season.

If he were to leave LA and join the Rangers, Texas would automatically become one of the most interesting teams for the 2023 campaign. Clayton Kershaw would be playing under former San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy and alongside former Dodger teammate Corey Seager.

With that being said, the Dodgers are still the favorite to land Kershaw.
