Since the Indiana Pacers finally went through with a trade to send All-Star forward Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team has been actively looking to rebuild their roster.

During this process, the Pacers have seen former All-Star point guard Jeff Teague sign a three-year, $57 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves. With that in mind, Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders is reporting that the Pacers have discussed a trade with the Toronto Raptors for veteran point guard Cory Joseph to fill the point guard void.

Indiana has a pressing need to find some stability on the backcourt, and Joseph could provide that for them next season. The 25-year-old has proven to be a steady point guard off the bench throughout his career, garnering a more stable rotational role with the Raptors over the last two years.

He is coming off his best season last year, averaging career highs of 9.3 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in 25.0 minutes per game while making a career-best 22 starts. With All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry out due to an injury in March, he picked up the slack, averaging 11.6 points on 47.8 percent shooting from the field and 5.1 assists in 16 games played in the month.

Joseph has two years remaining on his four-year, $29.8 million deal that will pay him $7.6 million next season. He holds a $7.9 million player option for the 2018-19 campaign.
