While the attention of the whole NBA world was on LeBron James and his return to the Drew League after 11 years, another NBA player casually dropped 73 points in a pro-am league to little fanfare.

Toronto Raptors guard Malachi Flynn joined the Crawsover Pro-Am on Saturday and recorded the mind-numbing number in addition to his 12 rebounds. Sure, it's 73 points against lesser competition, but watching the highlights, Flynn actually scored on a number of contested shots.

LeBron James' 42 points (on 18-of-36 shooting) and 16 rebounds certainly can't compare to that. Granted that they played different competitions, 73 is still 73 and something that isn't so easy to do.

Malachi Flynn's display will surely go down as one of the best performances in a pro-am league, alongside Payton Pritchard's crazy 92 points last offseason.

Hopefully, the 24-year-old guard gets to see more NBA action with the Raptors in 2022-23. He played in 44 contests for the Raptors last campaign and started in five, albeit seeing little playing time with an average of 12.2 minutes.

He actually saw his role with the Raptors decrease, having averaged 19.2 minutes in his rookie year in 2020-21. At that time, he played in 47 games and started in 14, putting up 7.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.9 dimes.

Flynn sure can ball. Now it's up to the Raptors if they'll give him a chance, though they might want to after seeing their guard make tough shots after tough shots in the Crawsover Pro-Am.
