No jaws were left undropped on Thursday night as the Miami Heat and the Charlotte Hornets went at it in a pulsating contest. The game needed two overtimes to decide the result, with the Heat escaping with a 111-107 victory.
Kyle Lowry came up big for the Heat in crunch time, scoring 12 of his 25 points in the two extra periods. The 35-year-old Lowry turned back the clock for arguably his best performance since moving to South Beach. Of course, his former Toronto Raptors teammate Fred VanVleet had to show his love to Lowry, albeit with a tiny shade.

The joke never gets old.
While VanVleet's subtle stan of Lowry will be appreciated by Heat fans, Hornets fans might still be up in arms after one of the veteran PG's buckets was counted as a three-pointer even though it appears he stepped on the line (via Reddit).

But a win is a win, and the Heat will gladly take it. They improved to 38-21, winning six of their last seven outings, to maintain their hold of the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
Lowry got plenty of help against the Hornets, with his fellow starters Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson, and PJ Tucker all chipping in at least 15 points apiece.
Up next for the Heat in their back-to-back slate are the New York Knicks on Friday.
