Kawhi Leonard is rounding into form at exactly the right time. After his team lost the second leg of a home-and-home with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, the Toronto Raptors superstar told reporters he's “feeling good” with the playoffs fast approaching.

“It feels a lot better than when I started the season,” he said of his health, per Josh Lewenberg of TSN. “There was a little spell where it kinda plateaued but everybody put their minds together and we figured out a way. Things are looking good and I'm feeling good.”

Leonard certainly wasn't the cause of Toronto's defeat. He scored 37 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished four assists, and swiped two steals on 12-of-23 shooting overall, 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, and 9-of-10 at the free throw line. Pascal Siakam chipped in 25 points, but like Leonard, struggled taking care of the ball against one of the league's greediest defenses. The pair combined for a whopping 15 of their team's 21 turnovers, spoiling an otherwise awesome offensive performance. Paul George led the Thunder with 28 points, and Dennis Schroder came in off the bench to score 26 points.

Leonard, who missed the vast majority of last season with tendinopathy in his right quad, also referenced his decision to sit out of some games while healthy this season.

“Me missing games isn't just to keep me fresh,” he said. “It's making sure I don't re-injure something that I was out for last year. They've been doing a good job of reading images and making sure that I'm improving instead of declining on the health side.”

Toronto, 51-22, falls three games back of the league-leading Milwaukee Bucks for first place in the Eastern Conference standings.
