The Toronto Raptors will be resting superstar forward Kawhi Leonard for Saturday night's game against the Washington Wizards, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The team will also be missing backup point guard Delon Wright due to an adductor strain.

The Raptors are playing their third game in four nights, so it just seems like a precautionary move for Leonard. He had one of the strangest injury situations last season, which saw him just appear in nine games for the San Antonio Spurs. This ultimately led to his fall out with his former team.

The 2014 NBA Finals MVP appears to be healthy heading into the regular season. There are no reports of any lingering issues on his quadriceps.

Leonard recently led the Raptors to a 113-101 victory over the Boston Celtics on Friday in an early season showdown of the top two powerhouses in the Eastern Conference. The two-way star tallied 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 35 minutes of action.

In two games, Leonard is starting to look like the player he was in the 2016-17 season, where he earned All-NBA First Team honors and was a top five MVP candidate. He is averaging 27.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in 36.5 minutes per game on the young season.

The Raptors are now 2-0 on the season. They will look to extend their streak against John Wall and the Washington Wizards. However, they will have to do it without the services of their defensive juggernaut.

Leonard is fully expected to suit up for the Raptors' next game on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets.
