Pascal Siakam's contract extension has a new twist, as his four-year, $130 million pact with the Toronto Raptors could balloon to $156 million in total by reaching some of the bonuses in the language of his extension.
According to Michael Grange of SportsNet, the two sides agreed that if Siakam makes the All-NBA First or Second Team or wins the MVP award this season, his deal will be worth 30% of the cap — consistent with the value of a max player. If he reaches the incentive, his four-year deal would hit the $156 million mark.
Siakam has the brash confidence to bet on his future, already bound to make more than tenfold what he will net this season ($2.3 million) with his new contract starting at $29 million next season, per Spotrac.
The Raptors will be more than glad if they have to pay him more, as their extension would have been well worth the investment following the departure of Kawhi Leonard.

Toronto is banking on Siakam's development as the new go-to scorer, as well as the addition of a more well-rounded game and better marksmanship from the perimeter, which could put him somewhere among the top-10 players in the NBA within the next two years.
Siakam earned the Most Improved Player award last season after more than doubling his scoring average, going from 7.3 points per game in his second season in the league to an impressive 16.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game in a support role that saw him shoot a proficient 54.9% from the field.
If he continues his upward trajectory, he stands to make an extra $26 million haul through the duration of his contract.
