Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse is hopeful point guard Kyle Lowry and big man Serge Ibaka will be back in the lineup by Dec. 1.

Ibaka is still recovering from a sprained right ankle, while Lowry is out after fracturing the distal phalanx of his left thumb.

Ibaka is averaging 14.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in eight games this season for the Raptors. He’s shooting 52.4 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from beyond the arc and 82.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Lowry, meanwhile, is putting up 21.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.5 assists while shooting 47.8 percent from the floor, 42.6 percent from beyond the arc and 88.1 percent from the free-throw line.

It’s impressive the Raptors have been able to secure the second best record in the East despite Lowry and Ibaka being sidelined. It points to how special of a player small forward Pascal Siakam is. He’s putting up 26.0 points per game on the season and is well on his way to making his first All-Star game.

The Raptors host the Utah Jazz on Dec. 1. It remains to be seen if Lowry and Ibaka are able to suit up versus the Jazz. In the meantime, Toronto will count on its depth to defeat the Orlando Magic on Friday down in central Florida.
