The Toronto Raptors could be a major trade player in the offseason, and that could mean letting go of a key piece for the right return. Someone like OG Anunoby could be traded by the Raptors, with the forward reportedly linked to a couple of Western Conference teams in the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers, as reported earlier by Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.

Fischer initially reported about speculation around the NBA that Anunoby isn't happy with his role in Toronto after Scottie Barnes' resurgence and could be dealt. Fischer would later double down on the possibility that the Raptors would trade Anunoby, amplifying an earlier point that the versatile defensive wing is not “untouchable.”

Raptors fans can be upset, but I don’t write the headlines, and I spoke to yet another high-ranking front office official yesterday who said when his team called Toronto after the OG story, the Raptors didn’t shut down the conversation. He certainly doesn’t seem untouchable.

If the Raptors would indeed put Anunoby on the trading block, they should get plenty of interest. For one, he comes with great payroll value, as he would come with at least two years more of team control on a contract that pays him less than $20 million per season. His current deal will expire at the end of the 2024-25 season, though, he has a player option before that campaign that's worth $19.9 million.
