With the Detroit Pistons set to take on the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night, Pistons head coach Dwane Casey has probably had Raptors star Pascal Siakam on his mind.

Siakam won 2019 NBA Most Improved Player after a season that saw him average 16.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. This season however, Siakam has taken his game to a whole new level becoming a legit star.

No one believes in Siakam's superstar quality than Casey who coached the 6-foot-9 forward in his first two seasons in the league

Now coaching the Pistons, Casey will have to game plan for his former player. This season Siakam has transformed from All-Star to superstar averaging 25 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists shooting 45.8 percent the field and 38.1 percent from deep.

According to Casey, Siakam is “Way above most improved” and with the way the Cameroonian is playing this season, it's hard to disagree.

The Raptors won the championship last year but, after losing superstar Kawhi Leonard to the Los Angeles Clippers, most expected Toronto to take a step back.

And while they haven't been as dominant as they were last year, the Raptors are still in the thick of things and look like one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. At 18-8, the Raptors are just one game behind the second seed in the East.

Casey's Pistons on the other hand, are struggling. Despite a career year from center Andre Drummond, Detroit sits at just 11-16. The Pistons were the eighth seed in the East last year and are currently 12.5 games behind the Milwaukee Bucks in first place.
