The Toronto Raptors may have started this 2021-22 NBA season as an average team, but over their past eight games, they have kicked it into high gear and won all eight of them. The wins have shot them up from a below .500 team to second place in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division. Their 30-23 record with 29 games left to play has them in consideration for a division title and also has them just four and a half games back of the East-leading Miami Heat (36-20). The Raptors went to extend the streak from seven to eight games on Thursday night and during their 139-120 road victory over the Houston Rockets. two of their best players, Pascal Siakam and Gary Trent Jr., went absolutely bananas in the first half of the game.

Siakam and Trent Jr. each having 25+ points in the first half of a game is outstanding. As the Tweet above says, the only other two sets of teammates to do this are Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, and James Harden & Chandler Parsons. While the latter group may surprise you, considering Parsons had a short career due to injuries and had an even shorter time with Harden. The former group, though, everyone knows that those two can shoot the lights out and have been doing so together for years. If Trent Jr. and Siakam can continue to put up these types of first-half numbers, maybe there will be a passing of the torch from the “Splash Brothers” to the guys up north. That's a long time from happening, though…
