A couple of weeks ago, it was revealed who comprised this year's NBA All-Star starters. Among them were first-timers Ja Morant and Andrew Wiggins. The remaining starters were Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Trae Young, DeMar DeRozan and Stephen Curry,

Shortly thereafter, the reserves were announced. Fred VanVleet and Darius Garland were the first-time All-Stars from that list. The rest were who's who of the NBA.

Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James and Brooklyn Nets' Kevin Durant were named captains of their respective teams. On Thursday evening, James and Durant made their selections for their team live on TNT.

With the first overall pick, LeBron James chose the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo. Durant answered back with another big man in Sixers' Joel Embiid.

James then picked up Stephen Curry to add some shooting to Team LeBron. Durant answered back with a guard, going with Ja Morant. LeBron was in need of a wing player, so he chose DeMar DeRozan. Once again, Durant answered position for position drafting Jayson Tatum.

LeBron's final pick among the starters is Nikola Jokic. That left both Trae Young and Andrew Wiggins to fill out the starting roster for Team Durant because KD is unable to play due to injury.

In the second round, Durant began the drafting of the All-Star reserves. He filled out his roster with Devin Booker, Karl Anthony-Towns, Zach LaVine, Dejounte Murray, Khris Middleton, LaMelo Ball and Rudy Gobert.

James countered with Luka Doncic, Darius Garland, Chris Paul, Jimmy Butler, Donovan Mitchell, Fred VanVleet and James Harden.

This is the fifth time the NBA has used the captain format to the NBA All-Star Game. LeBron James has been a captain all five teams, and won all four of the previous years.
