Speaking to reporters on Wednesday for the first time since he got into a fight with Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Marquese Chriss, Toronto Raptors big man Serge Ibaka said he regrets the incident and is glad he didn't land a punch on Chriss.

The NBA suspended Ibaka for three games. The 29-year-old had to forfeit $448,275.

Serge Ibaka will return to the Raptors' lineup on Thursday against his former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In 64 games this season for the Raptors, Ibaka is averaging 15.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest while shooting 52.2 percent from the field, 26.7 percent from beyond the arc and 77.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Ibaka has 18 double-doubles on the season. Toronto is 46-18 when he's in the lineup.

As we have seen in the past, Ibaka wears his emotions on his sleeve. He got into a nasty fight during the 2016-17 season against Chicago Bulls center Robin Lopez. When he was with the Thunder, Ibaka routinely got into it with All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was playing for the Portland Trail Blazers at the time.

The Raptors have the second-best record in the Eastern Conference at 50-21.

They are trying to make the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.
