The Toronto Raptors and Goran Dragic split very quickly after the veteran guard was acquired in a trade for Kyle Lowry. It was a partnership that was never going to work.

Ever since Dragic's comments about having “higher ambitions” than playing with Toronto, he and the Raptors have not gotten along. He showed up to a Raptors game against the Miami Heat in Miami while he was away from the team. Toronto got rid of him at the trade deadline and found his way to the Brooklyn Nets.

Dragic hoped to win a ring with the Nets but ended up losing in the first round in a sweep at the hands of the Boston Celtics. The Raptors also went down 3-0 in their first-round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Unlike the Nets, they fought off elimination for two games and almost survived the absence of their All-Star guard, Fred VanVleet, to extend the series further.

With an unbelievable lack (or disregard) of self-awareness, Dragic came through laughing at the Raptors for losing in the playoffs. He tweeted several laughing emojis after the Sixers secured the Game 6 win.

Raptors fans shot back at Dragic that his team performed worse in the NBA playoff despite having expectations that were significantly higher.

The irony of the Goran Dragic tweet is blatantly obvious and tone-deaf. He will almost certainly receive loud boos in Toronto for the rest of his playing days. The Raptors have the last laugh because of their bright future and budding stars.
