The Baltimore Ravens went into Seattle on Sunday and were able to defeat the Seahawks for their biggest win of the season. Unfortunately, they also suffered an injury to pass rusher Pernell McPhee. According to Josh Alper of NBC Sports, McPhee is likely done for the rest of the season.

This is yet another devastating blow to the Baltimore defense. McPhee will join DeShon Elliot and Tony Jefferson on the Ravens IR's. Starting all seven games this season, McPhee totaled three sacks with seven tackles for loss and 19 total tackles. For a Ravens defense that has stuffed their opponent's rushing attack, the loss of McPhee will hurt.

If Baltimore wants to stay atop their division, they will need to get their defense healthy enough to carry the offense on certain weeks. Maurice Canady, Patrick Onwuasor, Jimmy Smith, and Anthony Averett have all been banged up for the Ravens recently with their Week 8 bye coming at the perfect time.

At the top of the AFC North with a 5-2 record, the Ravens are in a good position to reach the postseason and potentially make some noise if they can rely on the young Lamar Jackson to carry the offense.

With the Patriots scheduled for a Week 9 matchup, the Ravens won't get a warm welcome back, but they will have an opportunity to have everyone in the league take notice if they re able to knock off New England.
