The Baltimore Ravens had a phenomenal regular season finishing with the best record in the NFL. However, their defense lacked a consistent pass rush after recording a league-low nine sacks.
Their top pass rusher Matthew Judon had an outstanding season posting career highs in sacks (9.5), QB hits (33), and forced fumbles (4). However, it's uncertain if the Ravens are willing to resign him this offseason because he's expected to earn a pricey deal worth $17 million per season.
Nonetheless, the Ravens are supposedly interested in signing veteran defensive end Calais Campbell, via Jamison Hensley of ESPN
Campbell had a tremendous season recording 56 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. He was also selected to the Pro Bowl and was named the Defensive MVP after forcing a fumble.
The 33-year-old is a five-time Pro Bowl selection and was ranked the 26th-best player in the league by Pro Football Focus. The Ravens desperately need another veteran leader in their defense, and Campbell will provide just that.
