After finishing the season in a Tottenham uniform, new Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo has decided not to renew Gareth Bale's loan deal. The Welshman,  who seem to have enjoyed his brief return to the Premier League, after scoring 11 goals in 20 apps, will be back in Spain to his original club, Real Madrid.

The decision of Tottenham suddenly makes it a big problem for the Los Blancos. Real Madrid are only permitted to have 3 Non-European players on their squad in line with La Liga rules and regulations. Britain officially left Europe in January 2020, the Brexit suddenly puts a lot of pressure on teams who have players who are from the countries that were part of Brexit. Real Madrid currently have 4 Non-European players in Gareth Bale, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Eder Militao.

Gareth Bale was an outcast at Real Madrid during former manager Zinedine Zidane's time with the club. The return of Carlo Ancelotti further complicates the situation as he spoke highly of Bale during his first press conference. Bale had a lot of success under the Italian coach as he had 39 goals and 31 assists in 92 appearances.

Real Madrid lost a defender in Sergio Ramos on a free transfer to PSG and is on the verge of losing another one with Manchester United advancing in talks with Raphael Varane. It is highly unlikely that they let go of Militao, as he is viewed as the next great Los Blancos CB. Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr. are also important pieces on the squad as they showed glimpses of superstar potential when they were given consistent playing time.

The board really needs to make a big decision on who to sell or send out on loan this summer to comply with the rules of the league.
