The Boston Celtics and Red Sox have been taking notice of each other's strong performances as of late. Red Sox manager Alex Cora recently compared the Red Sox slow start to the Celtics and wanted to use the Celtics mid-season turn around as motivation for the Red Sox. And most recently, Marcus Smart gave a shoutout to Franchy Cordero.
Smart is a big name in the NBA. He is one of the best defensive players in the league. Some may even consider him to be a star. Meanwhile, Franchy Cordero is not a name many outside of Boston are familiar with. But Cordero recently smashed a walk-off grand slam to propel Boston to victory over the Mariners.

The Red Sox then displayed their support for the Celtics by rocking their jerseys. Cordero notably wore a Marcus Smart jersey.

Smart took notice and shouted Cordero out on Twitter.

There is no denying the fact that passion runs through Boston sports. Whether you love or hate their teams, seeing players in different sports support one another like this is special.
The Red Sox are beginning to finally hit their stride after an extremely slow start to the season. Marquee offseason acquisition Trevor Story is heating up and the team is on the verge of re-entering contention.
Meanwhile, the Celtics trail the Miami Heat 2-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals as of this story's publication. However, the Celtics can even the series up at 2 games apiece with a home win on Monday night.
