The Washington Redskins are moving forward with Dwayne Haskins as their quarterback, and he's taken extra precautions to make sure he's at his best in 2020. While teams are conducting virtual offseason programs, Haskins has dropped weight to help improve his mobility.

Coming out of Ohio State a season ago, Haskins was listed at 231 pounds. Now, after spending some time in the weight room, the second-year quarterback has trimmed his weight down to 220 pounds this offseason. John Keim, ESPN's reporter for the Redskins, confirmed Haskins' transformation via Twitter.

In his rookie season in Washington, Haskins finished with 101 rushing yards, averaging 5.1 yards per attempt. Contrary to what Stephen A. Smith may think, Haskins has never been known as an exceptionally mobile quarterback.

However, at the same time, he's more mobile than his numbers have indicated thus far. With Haskins losing weight, he could show a bit more mobility in the pocket next season. As a result, the former Buckeye could be in for a breakout season in 2020.

The first-round pick of the Redskins in the 2019 NFL Draft only got a chance to start in seven games as a rookie. Despite a slow start to his career, Haskins began to show some comfortability in Washington's offense in the latter part of the season.

Since he arrived in Washington, some have questioned the determination and character of Haskins. While some continue to doubt him, Haskins has been working tirelessly this offseason. Hopefully, losing weight this offseason will lead to more success for the 23-year-old quarterback.
