The Washington football team has new jerseys following the changing of their name. Although they have not found a permanent moniker, they've gone ahead and altered the previous name and logo off of their latest threads.

The new uniforms were revealed on Twitter, and the general consensus was pretty good. It seems like fans were big fans of the new design. It certainly looked much cleaner, and helped show off the colors more.

But it wasn't just the fans that were happy with the new digs. D.C.'s players were letting their feelings known too, and they had nothing but love.

According to Quinton Mayo of NBCSports.com, up-and-coming quarterback Dwayne Haskins and star pass rusher Ryan Kerrigan had some thoughts too.

“Kind of a throwback look. A little bit of Alabama homage,” Haskins said. “But I like them. We could go out there with old school helmets for all I care, I just want to get the ball rolling.”

“I'm pretty pumped, I love the numbers on the helmets,” Kerrigan said. “I think it's a really cool look and I'm really excited. “I think it's going to be a nice change, nice transition, and something I think our region can be proud of moving forward.”

Haskins' shout out to the throwback look makes a lot of sense. They definitely look like they could be an NCAA team's jerseys, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

One big takeaway from the quarterback's comments are the fact that he's clearly looking beyond the uniforms. Dwayne Haskins has seemed determined, on an absolute warpath, all offseason. Fans should be excited for year two, as they indeed try to “get the ball rolling”.

Kerrigan meanwhile throws out the numbers on the helmet. It's definitely a unique look for the NFL and should be cool to see, even if just for a season. He seems ready for the change and believes they'll be looking good for the fans.

Washington is certainly in a much better position than they've been in recent years. Maybe this name change and new look will help complete the transition. The sooner they can forget the decades of struggles and start producing a winner, the better.
