As the weeks continue to pass by, the murmurs of Jay Gruden getting ousted as the head coach for the Washington Redskins grows louder. Gruden spoke about his job security after Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots.

Simply put, Gruden knows that his time in the nation's capital is nearing an end. On Sunday, it appeared that the Redskins could actually keep it close with the Patriots the way their defense was playing.

Aside from the 33 unanswered points scored by New England, the writing has been on the wall for Gruden to be fired. From the questionable decisions he's made (on and off the field) and the reports of him not wanting to draft Dwayne Haskins; he's over welcomed his stay this season.

Since Gruden became the head coach in 2014, the Redskins boast a less-than-stellar record of 35-49-1. Additionally, Washington hasn't had a season with more than nine wins and have only made the playoffs once under Gruden. It also doesn't help when you go 22-30-1 since making the playoffs in 2015.

The Redskins now stand at 0-5 on the season and it would be best for them to part ways with Gruden. At the same time, it would give them time to come up with a list of candidates that could take the reins of the team.

The Redskins have to regret letting Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay go after seeing how well they've performed as head coaches. We'll be paying close attention to see if Gruden's key card works on Monday to see if he's indeed fired.
