The Washington Redskins aren't good. They haven't been good in quite some time. They probably won't be good again in 2020. Former NCAA head coach Urban Meyer says that isn't a good thing for the NFL.

“The NFL needs the Redskins to be good again,” Meyer told JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington. “Dwayne’s (Haskins) got to be that guy.”

So, what does Meyer think of Haskins—whom he coached at Ohio State—thus far? Let's just say he thinks he needs to pay more attention to the game instead of what he does online:

“Dwayne likes the social media,” Urban Meyer said. “He's all over the social media. I worry about that a little bit.”

Meyer added that he thinks Haskins should take “the Tom Brady approach” and simply remain focused on his team rather than his social media accounts.

He also said that he thought Haskins had a solid rookie campaign, noting that the young quarterback was stuck on a bad Redskins team and actually made Washington competitive when he was under center.

Last week, Meyer proclaimed that he felt Haskins could become a great signal-caller if the Redskins surrounded him with talented players, so it seems safe to say that he has high hopes for him.

Haskins made nine appearances and seven starts in 2019, throwing for 1,365 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 58.6 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 76.1.

As for Washington? The Redskins went just 3-13, marking their latest miserable campaign. The franchise has made the playoffs just five times since 1993.
