The Washington Redskins fell to 1-7 after their loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night, their latest defeat in what has been a disastrous season in the D.C. area.

However, even with the Redskins struggling, interim head coach Bill Callahan does not plan on permanently going to rookie Dwayne Haskins under center, saying that Case Keenum is the guy if he is healthy.

“I do believe Case is our quarterback,” Callahan said, according to Les Carpenter of The Washington Post.

Keenum was knocked out of the Redskins' loss to the Vikings with a concussion in the second quarter and did not play during the second half, clearing the way for Haskins to get some snaps.

Haskins completed three of his five passes for 33 yards and an interception in what was his second appearance of the season.

He also took the field during Washington's Week 4 loss to the New York Giants, completing nine of his 17 throws for 107 yards and three picks.

Callahan added that Haskins would be the next man up over Colt McCoy if Keenum were unable to play against the Buffalo Bills next Sunday, so it seems that we will probably see Haskins at some point this season.

Why the Redskins haven't gone to Haskins already is anybody's guess, but it could be because Washington has been so bad overall that the club does not want to potentially damage Haskins by throwing him to the wolves.

The thing is, at some point, Washington will need to start Haskins to try and develop the potential franchise quarterback.
