The Washington Redskins were one of the more injury-riddled teams in the 2017 NFL season. However, Washington had issues on the offensive side of the ball even before the injuries.

Perhaps their biggest disappointment on offense was the performance of wide receiver Terrelle Pryor. As a result, Pryor could be on his way out after just one season, according to ESPN's John Keim:

It would be easy to say Kirk Cousins, but we already know he'll be moving on and, truth be told, wanted to. But Pryor, a pending free agent, had a bad first season in Washington with 20 catches and one touchdown in 11 games before going on injured reserve. Pryor admitted he didn't realize how much Washington spread the ball around, causing his numbers to stay down, but he didn't help himself with drops, either. Also, Pryor plays the X receiver spot where Josh Doctson eventually took over. The Redskins want to add speed on the other side, and while Pryor is fast, he wasn't the deep threat they hoped he'd be.

There was plenty of optimism surrounding the signing of Pryor before the season. The former quarterback had enjoyed a resurgence at wide receiver with the Cleveland Browns in 2016. Washington was hoping he could serve as another weapon for Cousins in the red zone.

However, his presence in the team's versatile offense was virtually non-existent all year. Pryor followed up his 1,000-yard season with the Browns by mustering up just 20 receptions for 240 yards and a touchdown.

There would be little reason to keep him now with Washington undergoing a number of changes on the offensive end. Furthermore, the emergence of wide receiver Josh Doctson certainly brings plenty of promise as a weapon on the outside. Pryor will likely have to test the market and see which teams are willing to offer him a more integral role. It should be noted that before his departure from Cleveland, they had shown plenty of interest in re-signing him.
