There had been previous rumors circulating that Butler may need surgery on the knee.
If he is able to try out for the Olympic team without any issue, this would surely put those rumors to rest. A huge sigh of relief for Bulls fans emotionally invested in their rising young star.
Butler has certainly earned the right to have his shot at making the team. On the season he is averaging a team-high 21 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists.
His main concern are the 15 games that he also missed in that time. Since coming back from injury, Butler has only 16.75 points per game. Nonetheless, if healthy, he would certainly be a solid addition to an already star-studded team USA.
