The biggest name in the pool of 2018 NFL free agents has once again shaken the landscape of football.

According to Bleacher Report's Matt Miller, free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins has narrowed his list of destinations down to two teams, the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings. Miller announced the news of the day on his podcast, Moving the Sticks.

Previously, Cousins had announced that four teams were in the running, the two remaining, the Jets and Vikings, and John Elway's Denver Broncos and the recruiter's (Larry Fitzgerald) Arizona Cardinals.

Reports had recently surfaced that the Jets organization—who came into the situation as the early offseason favorites—were worried that the right-arm would choose the more immediately-ready Vikings as his next employer. Conversely, many rumblings have Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer not thrilled about spending so much money on a quarterback, thus making filling out the rest of the Top 51 that much more difficult. (This is especially the case for his specialty, his beloved defense.)

Of the two, the Jets have remained the most transparent and desperate. The organization has gone as far as to make the claim that they'd do “whatever it takes” to sign the man.

After the recent cuts of veteran Muhammad Wilkerson and retirement of Matt Forte, the Jets have approximately $90 million in cap space. The Vikings come to the Cousins party equipped with $48 million in cap space.

One man. Two teams. One football.

Where will the biggest catch of the 2018 NFL free agency period wind up? Will it be the glitz and glamor of New York or the dryer and rugged Minnesota?

Stay tuned.
