Projected No. 1 overall pick, Markelle Fultz, is reportedly unwilling to work out for any other team aside from the Boston Celtics, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
In what seems to be the latest fad of this draft class, Fultz and projected second overall selection Lonzo Ball seem hellbent on going one-and-two respectively, with no regard to a change of plans by the Celtics or the Los Angeles Lakers.
The University of Washington product was scheduled to take a physical and spend time with Celtics officials on Monday and Tuesday, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.
The Philadelphia 76ers could use a hybrid point guard like Fultz at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds with an already potent core of Joel Embiid at center and Ben Simmons at small forward, which could make a 1-3-5 combo to watch out for in the following years.
However, these workout blackouts on other teams only benefit the team that he ends up working out for, as it gives them a hand up over the competition having been able to witness a thorough session with the player.
While most signs point toward the Celtics taking Fultz in this year's NBA Draft — president Danny Ainge may just surprise everyone and pull something out of the hat at the last minute, given how deals tend to happen in the league.
