There are now unofficial Resident Evil 7 VR and Resident Evil Village VR thanks to a mod that fixes both perspective and controls.

Ever wanted to get stepped on by Lady Dimitrescu? Well, you still can't have that now, but we now have the next best thing: Resident Evil Village VR. Modder praydog has made Resident Evil Village VR a reality on PC, which is, according to Eurogamer, even better the official PSVR treatment Capcom has given to their previous Resident Evil games. Capcom has previously stated that, unlike Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village will not get an official PSVR treatment. So, thankfully, we got people like praydog who have dedicated their lives in making dreams possible.

These mods went beyond what Capcom has already been doing on their own official PSVR games. These mods go further by introducing 6DOF (Six Degrees of Freedom), which allows you to truly look around with your head rather than just being confined to a single perspective, making immersion better; VRIK, which gives the player an actual full-body avatar as opposed to just a set of hands, and full motion controllers support, which enables controls like healing yourself by drawing a bottle of medicine from above your shoulder and pouring it over your hands – just like in the video games.

The Resident Evil 7 VR and Resident Evil Village VR mods will be released within the next two weeks, so you can't exactly get your hands on them yet right now. However, you can check out the video above from an episode of Eurogamer's Ian's VR Corner for a quick guide around the Dimitrescu Castle and a night's out with the Vampire Ladies. To be notified when the mods finally hit the shelves, so to speak, head on to the Flatscreen to VR Modding Community on Discord and keep an eye out on the announcements.
