It seems the Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal rivalry is simply a thing of the past.

The former Los Angeles Lakers teammates have publicly set aside their differences over the past few years. While the two are friends now, that wasn't always the case during the early 2000's when the pair were winning championships together.

One such person who was very familiar with their relationship was former teammate Rick Fox. Fox was a member of the Lakers franchise from 1997 until 2004.

After Shaq's son, Shareef, recently said that Bryant offered to mentor him over the summer, Fox stated that it “warmed his heart” to see the gesture:

“To see that beyond all of the success and struggles throughout those championship days, that at the core, there was a lot of respect, a lot of love, and that respect and love is shining through even now, later on, through a gesture like that… it made me really warm my heart to see that.”

With Bryant and O'Neal both retired and their legacies well in place, it's nice to see that they have officially moved forward from their differences of over a decade ago.
