Minnesota Timberwolves‘ guard Ricky Rubio suffered an elbow sprain during the fourth quarter of their game against the Sacramento Kings and will be evaluated on Sunday to find out the extent of the injury.

With 6:28 left in the game, Rubio appeared to have collided his elbow on Kings' forward Anthony Tolliver‘s leg and fell to the floor. He was seen wincing in pain and went directly to the locker room. The Wolves lost 106-103 and are now winless in two games so far in the season.

The Timberwolves' rookie,  Kris Dunn, is expected to start in place of Rubio should there be a need for him to miss some time to recover. If there's any good news for the team, they have three other point guards who can fill the void left by the 26-year-old Spaniard.

Rubio is averaging 4.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in two games but beyond the numbers he gives his team, it's his leadership and ability to run the offense that they will miss the most. The Minnesota faithful are hoping his injury is not serious and that he won't be forced to sit out a significant amount of time.
