Every team helmed by offensive genius Mike D'Antoni is bound to put up points in bunches. The most recent milestone for him and the Houston Rockets has proven yet again that he's the best coach on the offensive end.

The Houston Rockets dropped 50 in the 3rd quarter against the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, they are just the second team to score 50 in a quarter in a playoff game. The other team was the Los Angeles Lakers team in 1962, led by Hall of Famers Elgin Baylor and Jerry West:

It is not a surprise that they achieved this feat. Back in the regular season, they dropped 112.4 points per game for second most next to the Golden State Warriors with 113.5 points. They also have an NBA second-best offensive rating of 112.2. When the Rockets play, we're not just expecting a great game, we also expect an offensive showcase. Expect a 3-point shooting barrage from all of their players.

Harden, as usual, led the offensive juggernaut. He ended the quarter with 34 points before heading to the bench with under three minutes remaining. Chris Paul, for his part, chipped in 23 points to end the quarter.

The Rockets are the favorites to take on the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. Nothing is etched in stone but from their respective regular season performances, they are expected to rake through their foes in the early playoff rounds.
