OKLAHOMA CITY – Houston guard Chris Paul will miss his second straight game tonight when the Rockets take on the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to coach Mike D’Antoni.

“Eric Gordon will start instead of Chris,” D’Antoni said. “Chris is still out.”

Paul suffered an adductor strain against the L.A Lakers Dec. 20 and missed the L.A. Clippers game Saturday.

Despite having a workout before tonight's game, D’Antoni still said Paul is not ready, but he is close. And may see action in the coming days.

“He practiced a little bit yesterday,” D’Antoni said. “But he still felt little bit though. We have a couple of days after this, then we’ll see. He won’t play in the back to back. Maybe one of the two games.”

Paul is averaging 17.1 points and 9.0 assists in 16 games in this his first season with the Rockets. Houston is 15-1 in those games, losing just the last one that he played when the team lost to the Lakers.

This will put more responsibility on the shoulders of James Harden tonight. Harden scored 51 points in each of the last two games, but the Rockets lost both of those games. Tonight, against his former team the Oklahoma City Thunder, who traded Harden back in 2012, look for more fireworks.
