The Houston Rockets have looked like the true winners of NBA Summer League thus far. Their prized top rookie in Jalen Green has looked every bit the part of the superstar scorer in the making that he was touted to be. But his hotshot rise just hit a speed bump after exiting their tilt against the Toronto Raptors with injury.

The Rockets rookie tweaked his hamstring and was forced out for the rest of the game after feeling some tightness. An MRI and an overtly cautious approach is to be expected.

Rockets head coach Stephen Silas provided an update on Jalen Green after the game. The G League Ignite product will be reevaluated, along with any chances of returning to NBA Summer League play.

Via Ben DuBose of Yahoo! Sports:

“It’s pretty much caution,” explained the Rockets head coach. “He just felt a little tightness, so we’re going to be extra careful and have him back there getting some treatment. We have two days off between this game and our next (on Sunday), so we’ll see how it goes.”

“It’s hard for those guys. They weren’t playing a lot leading up to this, just individual workouts, and now they’re playing every other day. So yeah, we’re going to be cautious with that.”

One fan noted that Jalen Green appeared to have a wrap in place even before the injury occurred. Perhaps the Rockets were nursing his hamstring even before the game? Details on that weren't disclosed just yet.

The Rockets have every reason to hold Jalen Green out until he is fully healthy. Hopefully this will just be a blip in an otherwise spectacular rookie season to come.
