The Houston Rockets were able to make franchise history with their 59th win in the 2017-18 NBA season. Needless to say, it came in typical Rockets fashion with a 114-91 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday.
However, it seems head coach Mike d'Antoni may have been the only one excited by it. According to ESPN's Tim McMahon, D'Antoni said the team was nonchalant about their historic night afterward:

What Houston has done this season is no small feat given all the great Rockets' teams in year's past. However, it is evident that they are looking to become much more than just the best regular season team in franchise history.
There was plenty of speculation regarding Houston's acquisition of point guard Chris Paul. Critics felt that stacking the backcourt with two superstar, ball-dominant guards would stall the offense.
It goes without saying that they have since blown expectations out of the water. However, it seems that this may have just been part of the plan all year long. Star guard James Harden has been vocal about what the team's goals are this season. The Beard has backed up his talk by becoming the favorite to take home MVP honors after yet another spectacular season.
Although Houston has managed to break the franchise's regular season wins record, they are hoping to mimic the postseason success of the team that held the that title before them. The 1993-94 Houston squad capped their spectacular year by defeating the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals.
