Rutgers football absolutely took it to the Miami Hurricanes, as they found a way to win the Pinstripe Bowl on Thursday night. However, all of the attention is on star running back, Kyle Monangai, as he went bonkers in this game to help lead the Scarlett Knights to victory.

Monangai was his usual self in the Pinstripe Bowl. He's been a monster all season and is finally getting in the spotlight. While facing the Hurricanes, the Rutgers football star finished with 163 rushing yards and a touchdown. He averaged 6.5 yards per attempt. That's just impressive no matter how you look at it.

His performance certainly caught the attention of everyone watching the game. Fans everywhere seemingly can't believe their eyes. I mean, just watch how fluid he is running the ball on this play.

The Athletic's Nicole Auerbach only needed one word to describe the Rutgers football star. This kid can play football!

“Kyle Monangai is a stud.”

Monangai looks like an NFL-ready running back. Especially after his performance on Thursday night. Despite that, he plans to play for Rutgers football next season, according to Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post. It honestly might be a smart decision considering how much the running back position has dropped in value in recent years.

“Kyle Monangai is awesome. Really surprised he is going to add more mileage to his legs at Rutgers and put off NFL.”

Despite Dunleavy's opinion, Rutgers football fans are excited for Kyle Monangai to return next season. He'll definitely be a featured star in the offense in 2024.

It'll be interesting to see what Monangai can do next season though. This year was the first time in his college career where he outright owned the backfield. So, it makes sense why he wants to stay one more season. If he can put up strong numbers in 2024, he'll become a highly sought after running back entering the 2025 NFL Draft.
