Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield lit it up in the first preseason game of the year. Using just six passes, he completed five – throwing for 77 yards and a touchdown.

After a fantastic rookie season in 2018, Mayfield couldn't have had a better start to his second preseason. That's apparently caught the eye of former NFL safety Ryan Clark.

As Clark points out, Mayfield's rookie season was pretty historic. He's now on an offense that's even better. They've added Odell Beckham Jr. to the wide receiver corps, and he'll get running back Kareem Hunt a little later in the year.

Mayfield has proven his skillset translates perfectly to the NFL and that he can be a leader in the locker room. He isn't afraid to assert his dominance and will hold others accountable when they need to be (as well as hold himself accountable).

Due to all that, Mayfield has made a lot of people believers in the past. Now Ryan Clark isn't just a believer but seems to be all-in on the quarterback.

For reference, Mayfield played in 14 games last year (started 13). In that time, he completed 63.8% of his passes for 3,725 yards and 27 touchdowns. Now he'll have the opportunity to play in 16 games. He'll be doing so with an improved supporting cast and a full year of experience under his belt.

The sky is the limit for Mayfield and the Browns. He's already made a believer out of Clark; now we have to wait and see how long it takes him to get the entire NFL world behind him *cough* Colin Cowherd *cough*.
