The New Orleans Saints are prepping for the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6 and a surprising name made it onto the team's injury report on Thursday. Alvin Kamara was limited in Thursday's practice with an ankle injury, per Mike Triplett of ESPN.

The Saints running back participated in the team's walkthrough on Wednesday with no limitations. So it was peculiar to see Kamara limited on Thursday as the team took the practice field.

As Triplett pointed out, it's unknown if the injury is new or if the team is just limiting him as a precaution. Regardless, it will be worth monitoring his ankle as we near Sunday's game versus the Jaguars.

While Drew Brees has been out with a thumb injury, Kamara and Michael Thomas have done the heavy lifting in the offense. Sean Payton understands that the offense is a bit different when Teddy Bridgewater is under center and not Brees.

In the first two weeks of the season, Kamara rushed for 142 yards and zero touchdowns. Along with his rushing numbers, the versatile back had just eight receptions for 87 yards in Weeks 1 and 2.

Then, when Bridgewater entered the lineup, Kamara has totaled 354 yards from scrimmage, 18 receptions, and two touchdowns. Due to Kamara and Thomas' production alongside Bridgewater, New Orleans has been able to string off three straight wins without Brees.

As we enter Week 6, the Saints will look to extend their winning streak on Sunday against a Jaguars team who has a newfound momentum with Gardner Minshew at quarterback. Undoubtedly, the Saints could definitely use a healthy Kamara to secure another victory for the 2018 NFC South Champs.
