The toll of injuries might have been enough to convince Drew Brees to hang up his helmet and cleats. Ken Fang of Awful Announcing reports that Brees, a future NFL Hall of Famer and the Super Bowl XLIV champion with the New Orleans Saints, will retire after the playoffs and join NBC Sports next season.

Drew Brees is an NFL icon and one of the most decorated quarterbacks in NFL history. This coming postseason will therefore mark Brees' last attempt to win a second Super Bowl title with the Saints.
