It's not only every single team in the NFL that is preparing for the 2022 season by addressing any and all issues on their roster. As it turns out, even television networks are embroiled in what appears to be an all-out bidding war for some of the most highly-coveted NFL analysts in the market. A couple of New Orleans Saints icons have popped up on this most-wanted list, with Drew Brees and Sean Payton emerging as some of the hottest free agents available.

The big news that hit airwaves on Wednesday centered around Troy Aikman finalizing a massive deal with ESPN to become the network's main NFL analyst for Monday Night Football. It sounds like this has caused a ripple effect across the industry with both Brees and Payton now being linked to FOX as Aikman's potential replacement (h/t Ari Merov of PFF):

Both Sean Payton and Drew Brees have made their respective marks on the New Orleans Saints franchise, albeit in entirely different lights. Right now, both men have emerged as some of the most sought-after names in the broadcasting industry. Former Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen, who currently serves as a color commentator for Fox Sports, has also seen his name thrown in the mix as a potential replacement for the departing Aikman.

However these network wars end up, the fact of the matter is that most, if not all of the names involved here are going to be getting a pretty significant pay hike in the coming weeks.
