New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas played a key role with an NFL employee to put the wheels in motion for a Black Lives Matter video. NFL social media creative producer Bryndon Minter was frustrated with the way the NFL was dealing with the situation surrounding George Floyd's death.

Minter knew he was taking a risk, but he reached out to Michael Thomas through DM's hoping he would be involved in making a video:

“Want to help you create content to be heard around the league,” Minter wrote to Thomas via Peter King of Football Morning in America. “I’m an NFL social employee and am embarrassed by how the league has been silent this week. The NFL hasn’t condemned racism. The NFL hasn’t said that Black Lives Matter. I want [to] help you put pressure on. And arm you with a video that expresses YOUR voice and what you want from the league. Give me a holler if you’re interested in working together, thanks bro!”

23 minutes after sending out the message, Minter received a response from Michael Thomas who said he was interested. Thomas got the script from Minter and loved it.

Minter also got many other high-profile black players to be involved including Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., and New York Jets safety Jamal Adams among others.

It's clear there is a changing dynamic and the NFL seems to be changing a bit, but the big question still remains with kneeling.

After everything that has happened the last few weeks, will players be allowed to kneel for the National Anthem without receiving pushback?

Either way, Michael Thomas and other players around the league are doing what they can to continue the discussion on racial injustice in hopes of creating a better world.
