New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston is six months removed from surgery to repair a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee. Winston's recovery took a major step forward in February, as he began running for the first time. Then, the Saints quarterback was cleared to participate in the team's offseason OTAs, or Organized Team Activities. However, the ACL injury appears to be leaving some long-term effects, as noted by Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football and Pro Football Talk.

But there’s a catch. There’s a limp. A visible one, via Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football. Underhill noticed the limp during last week’s OTA sessions.

Per Underhill, Winston is walking with a “noticeable limp” at Saints' OTAs. It hasn't affected the Saints signal-caller's participation at offseason practices thus far, though it's far from ideal that he's already experiencing some complications in his recovery from the major knee injury that ended his season in 2021.

Winston, who threw for 1170 yards, 14 touchdowns and three interceptions in seven games last year, signed a two-year, $28 million contract with New Orleans in March of this offseason.

Saints fans are likely excited to see what Winston can do with more pass-catchers at his disposal, as the team drafted Ohio State's Chris Olave, brought in free agent Jarvis Landry and should have All-Pro wideout Michael Thomas returning from ankle issues that have plagued him.

It adds up to be a promising year for Winston and the Saints. However, he must get healthy first.
