The New Orleans Saints have been going through their OTA's without their most important player so far. Drew Brees has been absent from the Saints offseason activities but there shouldn't be too much made of it.

According to Josh Katzenstein of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Brees was a no-show for New Orleans in their OTA's today. Although, the Saints and Sean Payton don't seem concerned about their franchise quarterback missing OTA's.

Payton said himself that “there hasn't been someone not here that I'm not aware of, I'll leave it at that.” If Payton isn't concerned with Brees missing OTA's then no one should.

After all, OTA's are voluntary offseason activities for players so there shouldn't be too much made of certain guys missing them. Next week though, some teams will be beginning their mandatory minicamps.

Brees missing OTA's shouldn't come as a surprise as he heads into his 18th season in the NFL. At 40-years old, it's better if he preserves his arm for the season and not for involuntary activities.

Also, the Saints get to give starting reps to Teddy Bridgewater. They are hoping that Bridgewater could be their possible replacement for Brees when the Saints' long-time signal caller decides to call it quits.

If Brees is absent from the Saints mandatory minicamps then it may become a story. But he is likely spending time with his family and getting his body right for another grueling season in 2019.

Don't fret Saints fans, you shouldn't be uneasy with the fact that Brees isn't present at OTA's.
