The New Orleans Saints could be down a few key players when they take on the New York Jets in Week 14. According to NOLA.com's Jeff Duncan, running back Mark Ingram has tested positive for COVID and was subsequently placed on the COVID-19 list, putting his availability for Sunday's game in doubt.

Ingram is the second positive COVID test to emerge out of New Orleans this week, with star defensive end Cameron Jordan also returning a positive test. Barring an unlikely change in their status, both players are not expected to be ready to play on Sunday.

The loss of Ingram will certainly hurt the Saints' offense, which is already sputtering as things stand. With the quarterback carousel still in full swing for the Saints, losing a key running back like Ingram only stands to elevate the pressure on the man under center.

This season, Ingram started the year in Houston before re-joining the Saints via trade. He's featured in five games for the Saints this season, recording 55 carries for 233 yards and one touchdown. Prior to the trade, Ingram had rushed the ball 92 times in Houston for 294 yards and one touchdown.

Not all things are bad in the running backs room, however. The Saints are expected to get star running back Alvin Kamara back in Week 14. Kamara has been out since Week 9 while he deals with a knee injury. While Kamara should be able to take the field, fans hoping to see the tandem of Kamara and Ingram in action will be forced to wait a bit longer.
