The New Orleans Saints are looking to avenge last week's loss to the San Francisco 49ers and they'll have to do so a bit shorthanded. Ahead of Monday night's game, New Orleans has ruled out five key players versus the Indianapolis Colts.

During the narrow defeat to the 49ers, the Saints had quite a few players go down with injuries. Among them, Vonn Bell, Kiko Alonso, Andrus Peat, Patrick Robinson, and Johnson Bademosi will be inactive in Week 15.

Due to the injuries, New Orleans will undoubtedly be thin in the secondary against the Colts. With Bell, Robinson, and Bademosi sidelined, Justin Hardee and rookie Chauncey Gardner-Johnson will see an uptick in snaps with the defense.

As for the offense, the Saints will likely have Patrick Omameh or Nick Easton fill in for Peat at guard once again. Peat has been out since Week 10 after undergoing arm surgery for an injury to his forearm.

Currently, the Saints are hoping to get Peat back on the field before the regular season concludes. But the Pro-Bowl guard hasn't made enough progress in his recovery to be able to return on Monday night.

While the Saints will be missing plenty of players, Drew Brees will be able to be active in Week 15. The veteran signal-caller made a late appearance on the injury report due to an elbow injury he suffered during last week's contest versus the 49ers.

Brees was sighted wearing a compression sleeve on his elbow earlier in the week. He was finally able to practice without it on Saturday which was a positive sign for his availability on Monday.
